Stake-knife, real name Scappaticcii, became head of the IRA’s internal ‘nutting squad’ whose role it was to identify and deal with British spies in the IRA.
Scappaticci was responsible for the deaths of many IRA members, many by their own hands, fooled by Scappaticci into believing they were British moles.
