The arrest of a couple in Kerry in recent days has once again, put the spotlight on Joanne Hayes.
There’s double page spreads in today’s papers about the shameful treatment of Joanne Hayes by Judge Kevin Lynch and the Gardai during the 1980’s ‘Kerry Babies Tribunal’.
However, there’s lies of silence around the present state abuse of mothers and their children.
The media has ignored Deputy Bernard Durkan’s campaign in the Dáil since last September calling for an inquiry into what’s happening today in the Family Courts with mothers arrested, their children forcefully taken by Gardai and “subjected to the kind of abuse that was used in prisoner of war camps.”
